VE6NHM Repeater Prototype using FPGA controller

This was the first prototype of a repeater system on 900 MHz using a pair of Kenwood TK941 radios and the FPGA-based repeater controller. The Raspberry Pi was added to supply a remote programming capability using the JTAG interface on the FPGA board.

The repeater went into operation in September of 2020 as a low-power experimental machine located at my home. It was not intended for general use or to have any exceptional coverage, mostly as a platform to prove the operation reliability of the FPGA controller. The Raspberry Pi was not used in this application and was superseded with another controller that was more compact and functional.

The repeater operated reliably during its entire trial period, proving that the FPGA was a viable approach. It has since been updated with a new controller.
